Grupo ADI defies crisis with its international expansion
Grupo ADI, closed 2012 with a profit, reaching a turnover of 23.5 million Euros.
Present in the world of chemical distribution since 1997 and with a direct presence in Portugal, France, Morocco, India and China, the company has diversified into several sectors, thus promoting stability and growth, despite the severe economic environment of recent years.
So, in 2012, Grupo ADI has maintained its sales rate and although a logical deterioration in profitability, it has consolidated its activities, closing the year with a higher turnover than in 2011.
In 2012, Grupo ADI took a step forward in its communication policy, organizing their multiple business units in five divisions, as it has strengthened its global image as a multinational enterprise group mainly engaged in the distribution of chemicals.
In France, where the Group operates since 2008, there has been an increase in sales in the textile sector, remaining stable turnover level in the Coatings, Adhesives & Construction Chemicals Division.
From its subsidiary in Morocco, the company has been expanding its presence in North Africa, operating in countries such as Egypt, Algeria and Tunisia. Also, the two operative divisions of Adi Morocco, Textile Dyes & Chemicals/Paper and Coatings, have had an increase in sales.
Moreover, the Group acquired 100% of the shares of its Portuguese partner, Adi-Química Lda, strengthening its structure in the Coatings, Adhesives & Construction Chemicals Division in the Iberian Peninsula.
The Organization remained stable in Spain and improved sales in Portugal in Industrial Cleaning & Maintenance, division that offers its products and consulting services to cleaning industry.
Also, facing the market crash in Portugal and Spain, Grupo ADI has responded with an increase in its export activity.
As for sales in Grupo ADI Instruments division, operative in the Iberian Peninsula and mainly dedicated to the distribution of measuring instruments for quality control of the German BYK-Gardner, the group has maintained its Spanish and Portuguese market positions.
Achieving new Principals during 2012 has also helped the company to maintain market confidence.
While the situation in the markets is complicated and to advance successfully will be a great challenge, Grupo ADI faces it with new projects, investments and a strengthened team, visualizing the future with optimism and confidence in the sector.
