Monday, November 13th marked the start of the 3rd edition of the “MTB Transcumbres” at the Balneario Santa Rita (spa complex) in Santa Rosa de Calamuchita, a city that is going all out for the event.
The Grupo ADI’s passion for sports, particularly cycling, spurred CEO Jordi Simó to participate in this intense and spectacular race.
The initial stage, known as the Villa Alpina, is a 100-km ride adding up to a 2,300 m climb, stretching from the Balneario Santa Rita in Calamuchita to the Plaza de los Niños de Villa Yacanto.
The race starts out on a vehicle road, crossing the Villa General Belgrano and to Los Reartes, before taking cow trails and running through the pine forest of Las Cañitas de Villa Berna, and on to Cumbrecita, the most technically challenging part of the event, with a 10-km horseshoe-shaped section before crossing a stream and winding up in Villa Alpina.
There begins the road to Villa Yacanto, passing through Atos Pampa, site of the day’s last supply station, followed by a climb bound to surprise more than one rider.
The “MTB Transcumbres” welcomes cyclists from Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, the United States and Spain.
Many congratulations to all those brave souls who dared to take on the challenge of the #DesafíoTranscumbres! And, above all, thanks to everyone for making it possible!
Thank you very much!
